There are both physical and technical steps involved in setting up an HP Printer. 

• From the physical aspect of things, you will have to unpack your printer. 
• If you look in and around the surface of the printer, you will see a lot of protective covering or tape. Peel them all off. 
• The scanner glass, the ADF, the ink cartridge are- check all of them for tapes and take it all out. 
• After doing this, plug in the power cable of your printer and turn it on. 
• You can now mount the new ink cartridges supplied. Open the ink cartridge access area and slide in the unwrapped cartridge till you hear a click. 
• Your printer will start to align the ink cartridges. 
• There are two ways to download the printer driver- a software without which your printer is sadly dysfunctional. 
• You can either use the software installation CD provided with your printer or you can download the software from the internet.

• After getting the required software installed, your printer will align the cartridges and print an alignment sheet as well. And voila! Your printer setup is done.
