The printer can be connected to a wireless network / adhoc. It is advisable to prefer a wireless network over Adhoc for multiple reasons. Primarily wireless network that is connected to internet offers greater security over Ad-hoc.
The easiest way to connect to a wireless network is by using the HP Photosmart software CD. Proceed to connect the printer to the computer using a USB cable. After installing the software, the device will connect wirelessly following installation of the software in the computer that controls the printer.
There is also the availability of an option of connecting the printer to multiple computers on the network. Please note that the software needs to be installed in every computer with which the printer needs to be controlled.
This is performed by following the instructions which appear in dialogue boxes during the software installation. Instructions include disabling the firewall and adding respective computers to the printer’s list.
